I remember sitting in the bathrooms at my law office, crying as I googled 'burnout' for what felt like the hundredth time that week.
By this point I had spent months, if not years, googling 'what are the symptoms of burnout', 'how do you know if you're suffering burnout' and 'how to recover from burnout'.
I had stumbled on the term years beforehand when a few colleagues had been discussing one of the (increasingly common) colleagues who had left the career without any real plan. 'She just, burned out'.
I knew that this meant more than the shorthand for 'couldn't hack it' that it seemed to be used for.
And I was desperate to find some kind of route guide, some path that would help me out of the deep, dark place I felt that I was stuck in.
I knew that I achieved results, that objectively I was good at my job, that I was taking on responsibilities far in excess of what had been expected and that I was working my backside off to keep it all together. I also knew that I was exhausted, struggling to get out of bed each morning but unable to sleep when my head hit the pillow with whirling thoughts of to-do lists, settlements, problems looming on the horizon all swirling around my head.
I knew I couldn't keep going.
So there I sat, again, searching and crying.
I felt so alone.
Every article seemed to say the same thing; burnout arises when you work too hard for too long and don't see the results you had anticipated or hoped for. Some articles linked burnout with 'a breakdown', others with physical exhaustion, a few linked it to a spiritual crisis.
Not a single one of those articles told me how to dig my way back out.
I couldn't admit what was going on to my colleagues for fear of being branded a failure or, worse still, a liability, not to be trusted.
My friends were all experiencing similar shades of my own struggle, not that I would confided in them. I had withdrawn into myself, convinced that no one could or would understand me.
Now I know that being surrounded by a community of women with similar experiences of burnout, overwhelm and struggle is one of the single most important steps in recovery. You can be supported, understood, held accountable, lifted up by the successes of others, even if you're having a bad day yourself.
I have also amassed a huge amount of knowledge around the biggest topics that burned out women question; what is burnout? how do I get back to the old me? how do I know if I'm backsliding? how do I regain my confidence in myself?

Who am I?
Hi, I'm Leah. I offer support, guidance, training and mentoring to professional women who are struggling with exhaustion, overwhelm and burnout. I am passionate about helping amazing professional women to put themselves back at the centre of their lives and develop careers that they adore without being taken over it.

Each workshop is 60 minutes long with a QnA session at the end.

What's your refund policy?
